Frequently asked questions
Who is this retreat for?
OFF DUTY is designed for the women everyone depends on.The ones making decisions, solving problems, carrying responsibilities, and showing up for everyone else—whether you lead a company, a team, a family, a nonprofit, or your own business. If you're constantly needed, constantly switching between roles, constantly putting out fires, and rarely have uninterrupted time to think about your own life, this experience was created for you. This is for the woman who walks into a room with confidence while quietly carrying more than anyone realizes. The woman who has spent so much time leading, supporting, and taking care of everyone else that she's forgotten what it feels like to simply be herself.OFF DUTY is your opportunity to step away—not to escape your life, but to return to it with renewed energy, practical tools, meaningful connections, and a personalized plan that helps you lead your work and your life with greater intention.
What makes OFF DUTY different from other retreats?
This isn't another conference, a yoga retreat, a girls' getaway, or a spa weekend where you feel refreshed for a few days only to return home to the same routines, responsibilities, and exhaustion.OFF DUTY is an immersive leadership experience for women who spend their lives leading, supporting, solving, and showing up for everyone else. Whether you lead a company, a team, a business, a nonprofit, a classroom, or your family, this experience is designed for women who carry responsibility—and are ready to stop carrying it alone.Through leadership coaching, meaningful conversations, guided experiences, collaborative learning, personal reflection, and practical strategies, you'll gain the clarity, tools, and confidence to make changes that improve the way you lead, work, and live. You'll leave with more than great memories. You'll leave with a personalized action plan, practical leadership tools, meaningful relationships, and ongoing support to help you create lasting change long after you return home.Because the goal isn't to escape your life. It's to return to it with a better way to live it.
What if my title is not Leader? Can I still come
Absolutely.Leadership isn't a title - it's influence. It's the mother making decisions for her family. The entrepreneur building a business. The caregiver showing up every day.The nonprofit director serving her community. The manager guiding a team. The Nurse running the floor. The woman everyone turns to when something needs to get done.If you're the one people depend on, you're leading.OFF DUTY isn't designed for people with a certain job title. It's designed for women who carry responsibility, make decisions, and spend so much time taking care of others that they've forgotten to take care of themselves. If that sounds like you...You're exactly who this experience was created for.

OFF DUTY is not a religious retreat and is not centered around spiritual doctrine or belief systems. The retreat includes experiences such as meditation, sound healing, reflection, mindfulness practices, and intentional group conversations designed to help women slow down, disconnect from constant pressure, and reconnect with themselves outside the role of leadership.Women of all backgrounds and beliefs are welcome. Some guests may choose to pray, journal, reflect spiritually, or engage in personal practices privately during their experience, and space is always respected for that individually.

If you are open to it, within a few hours, you'll feel like you've known these women for years.

Why We Chose Kaaba Luum Location?
The location is part of the OFF DUTY experience.OFF DUTY will be held at Kaaba Luum, a private jungle retreat property in Chemuyil, near Tulum, Mexico. This location was chosen intentionally. The women attending OFF DUTY spend most of their lives surrounded by demands, interruptions, schedules, decisions, and people who need something from them. Holding this experience inside a crowded hotel or traditional conference space would recreate the same noise we are asking women to step away from. Kaaba Luum gives our small group room to slow down.Surrounded by the Mayan jungle, the private property offers separate villas with jungle-facing terraces and private plunge pools. It has shared gathering spaces and rooftops for reflection, conversation, and group experiences. Participants can engage with the group while still having opportunities for privacy, rest, and unstructured time. This is not about escaping to a pretty location. The environment was selected to support the purpose of OFF DUTY: uninterrupted time to think, rest, reconnect, and focus on the parts of your life that are usually pushed aside.Responsible Retreat DesignJourney 2 Transformation uses the Wellness Tourism Association’s Six Principles for Responsible Retreats™ as a best-practice guide when planning and delivering OFF DUTY.Our choice of location particularly supports the principles of thoughtful design and inclusion; safety and risk management; and respect for community, culture, and the environment.Thoughtful Design and InclusionThe retreat schedule balances leadership coaching, group experiences, personal reflection, meals, rest, and unstructured time.Participation in coaching, movement, breathwork, wellness practices, and group activities is voluntary. You may participate, modify an activity, take additional downtime, or opt out without pressure. Before booking, participants receive clear information about the jungle environment, accommodations, physical activity, meals, accessibility limitations, transportation, and what to expect throughout the experience.Safety and Guest CareKaaba Luum provides a private setting and on-site support for retreat groups. Journey 2 Transformation also reviews planned activities, transportation arrangements, facilitators, and outside providers before the retreat.Because this is a natural jungle property, guests should expect stairs, uneven pathways, outdoor walking, heat, humidity, and activities around water. These conditions and any physical requirements are disclosed before registration so each woman can make an informed decision about whether the experience is appropriate for her.Respect for the Land and Local EnvironmentKaaba Luum describes its villas as consciously designed to work with the existing landscape. The property reports that its structures use approximately 15% of the available land, helping preserve much of the surrounding flora and fauna. The villas incorporate natural textures, traditional Mayan stone, palapa-style roofing, and artisan design elements that reflect the region rather than separating guests from it.During OFF DUTY, participants are expected to respect the property, wildlife, cenotes, water, and natural areas we visit. WE only leave footprints behind. Community and CultureWe believe hosting a retreat in Mexico comes with a responsibility to respect the people, traditions, and communities that make the experience possible.Whenever possible, OFF DUTY works with local staff, chefs, transportation providers, guides, and experience partners. Meals and experiences are selected with consideration for local knowledge, regional ingredients, fair partnerships, and respectful representation of the destination.Cultural or traditional experiences will be clearly explained, led by appropriately qualified providers, and always optional. We will not present a cultural or spiritual practice as entertainment or make claims about traditions we are not qualified to interpret. Why This MattersA responsible retreat should provide more than beautiful pictures and a temporary escape. You deserve to know who is leading you, what is included, what the environment requires, how your wellbeing will be considered, and how the retreat engages with its host destination.Choosing Kaaba Luum allows OFF DUTY to provide privacy, nature, intentional pacing, and the breathing room women need—while reminding us that being welcomed into a place also means accepting responsibility for how we experience and care for it.
